Prof. Long-Po Zheng, Vice director of the Orthopaedic Department of Tenth People’s Hospital Tongji University, has been engaged in orthopedic clinical and basic research for 23 years. He has led six national-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, the 12th and 13th Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Programs, and the 14th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Program sub-projects. He has also undertaken seven projects from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Economic and Information Commission, one central university’s interdisciplinary key discipline project, one special project for graduate medical education management at Tongji University, and three institute-level projects. The total research funding for these projects exceeds 18 million RMB.
He has been recognized as key contributors, receiving two second prizes for Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Awards, one first prize, and one second prize from the Ministry of Education of China for scientific and technological advancements. He has been granted over 30 invention patents and utility model patents. As the first or corresponding author, they have published 37 SCI papers in journals with JCR Q1 and Q2 rankings, with the highest Impact Factor reaching 19.924. He contributed to three monographs: "Spinal Tumors," "Geriatric Hip Fractures," and "Atlas of Wound Repair in China," and served as a translator for the monograph "Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management of Osteoporosis and Related Diseases." He has received multiple awards, including "Outstanding Graduate Advisor," "Science and Technology Elite," and "Outstanding Communist Party Member" from Tongji University.
